サラ・ファン・ライは、写真やコラージュ、セルフポートレートを通して、詩的なイメージを生み出す写真家だ。さまざまな場所や瞬間、現実から切り取られた断片をレイヤー状に組み合わせた作品には、記憶が幾重にも重なり、時間が折り畳まれ、見慣れた風景がどこか不思議な世界へと変容していく。それは、目に見える世界を記録するというよりも、私たちの認識と想像のあいだに存在する視覚言語を浮かび上がらせる魔法のようだ。 本展では、風景やオブジェクト、身振りに加え、東京の街並みもまた、幾層もの時間を宿す風景として作品に織り込まれる。異なる場所や記憶、時間が静かに重なり合うことで、「時の奥行」が立ち現れる。

Sarah Van Rij is a photographer who conjures poetic imagery through photography, collage, and self-portraiture. Her work layers fragments cut from different places, moments, and realities, allowing memory to accumulate in strata, time to fold in on itself, and familiar landscapes to drift into something quietly uncanny. Rather than recording the visible world, it feels closer to a kind of magic—one that brings to the surface a visual language suspended between perception and imagination. In this exhibition, alongside landscapes, objects, and gestures, the streets of Tokyo are woven into the work as a landscape that holds its own layers of time. As different places, memories, and moments quietly overlap, a “L’épaisseur du temps” begins to emerge.
