Since declaring itself the “Town of Photography” in 1985, Higashikawa in Hokkaido has been promoting town development through “photography” to record the beauty of the landscape and the eternity created there. Finally, in June of this year, the town celebrated its 40th year as a town of photography. This exhibition features the works of seven photographers who live and work in Higashikawa. To commemorate the 40th year of the town of photography, we hope that this exhibition will provide an opportunity for visitors to get to know the photographers of Higashikawa, and at the same time, to feel the stories of each photographer.
