TOKYO SQUARE GARDEN 都市の表面に刻まれた痕跡を通じて、時間の重なりを見つめる展覧会。本展では、都市に堆積した痕跡を異なる視点から捉える二人の作家を紹介する。児玉浩宜の「BLOCK CITY」では、社会的な出来事の渦中においてリアルタイムに変化する都市空間を見つめる。そこでは人々の行為や集まりが都市に一時的な変化を生み出し、風景は絶えず更新されていく。一方、South HOの「Work Naming Has Yet to Succeed」では、出来事が過ぎ去った後に残される痕跡に着目する。抗議活動や社会運動の名残、補修や消去の痕跡は、やがて日常風景へと滲み込み、風景の一部として沈殿していく。出来事の発生とその余波、生成される痕跡と時間のなかで変質しながら残り続ける痕跡。両者の視点を往還することで、本展は都市を単なる物理的な空間ではなく、無数の出来事や記憶が折り重なりながら書き換えられていく場として捉え直す。

Through the traces etched on the surface of the city, we gaze upon the layers of time.
This exhibition showcases two artists who each capture the traces accumulated in a city from different perspectives. Kodama Hironobu’s BLOCK CITY surveys the urban landscape continuously reconstructed amidst the whirlwind of social events. As the actions and collectivity of the people bear temporary transformation to the city, the same landscape is continuously updated. Contrastingly, South Ho directs his attention to the traces that linger after the event in Work Naming Has Yet to Succeed. The residues of protests and social actions, evidence of erasures or patchings—they soon dissolve into the everyday and settle in the landscape like sediment. The occurrence of an event and its aftermath: traces generated anew and traces that stay and transform over time. A seesaw between two perspectives, the exhibition steps outside the concept of the city as a mere physical space and reframes the urban landscape as a place constantly overwritten by an infinite series of events and memories.

Photo: Shingo Kanagawa2016年より東南アジアを中心に、土着文化や社会情勢から発展したコレクティブとDIYカルチャーを調査。展覧会、パフォー ミングアーツ、教育プログラムなどを複合した横断的なキュレーションに関心をもつ。森美術館でアシスタントとして経験を積み、2023年春に独立。山中suplexの共同プログラムディレクター、アートセンターBUGおよび「神戸六甲ミーツ・アート2024 beyond」のゲストキュレーターを務める。近年の展覧会やラーニング事業の主な企画実績として、「バグスクール2024：野性の都市」（BUG、2024）、「みんなで土をラーンする！」（山中suplex、2024）、「一人で行くか早く辿り着くか遠くを目指すかみんな全滅するか」（山中suplex、2024）などがある。
With a focus on Southeast Asia, she has been researching collectives and DIY culture that developed from indigenous cultures and social conditions since 2016. She is interested in cross-sectional curation that combines exhibitions, performing arts, and educational programs. After gaining experience as an assistant at the Mori Art Museum, she became a freelance curator in spring 2023. Co-director of the program “Yamanaka Suplex” and guest curator of “Art Center BUG” and “Kobe Rokko Meets Art 2024 beyond”.
Major recent exhibitions and learning projects include “BUG School 2024 : Feeling Cities with Wild Sense” (BUG, 2024),  “Learning Soil Together!” (Yamanaka Suplex, 2024), and “Share-Meeting: Go Alone? Arrive Faster? Aim Further? Die Together?” (Yamanaka Suplex, 2024).
